LO1: Nature photographer analysis

John Shaw is a nature photographer who also does some landscape photography. He has been working as as photographer since the 1970's.

Purpose:

John Shaw's photos could be used in nature magazines or articles in newspapers about animals and nature. They can also be found on John's website along with his bio and contact information.

Image Analysis














The image above is being use to show the wildlife of America, in the picture there is a shallow depth of field because the horses are in the foreground which is in focus, while the trees in the background are out of focus. Having these included in the photo also has connotations of nature. A fast shutter speed will have been used to take this photo because the horses are moving fast and to capture a clear image of them a fast shutter speed will have had to be used. This image has probably had a fast shutter speed in order to capture the horses as they are moving.

Meaning:
The meaning of the photo above is to show the majesty of the wildlife in this part of America and also of the sprawling beauty of the background of the photo as well. It does through framing for example the rule of thirds is used in this picture since the horses are placed on the focal points.
